Wheeling Jesuit hit 56.3 percent of its shots and posted a 102-72 victory at Bluefield State Thursday.
The Cardinals raced out to a 57-30 halftime lead and never looked back. The squad drained 13 three-point shots, connecting on 56.5 percent from deep in the game.
Steve Catich notched a game-high 27 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Obi Ukwuoma tallied 17 points and 10 boards while Marquis Moore totaled a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Valentic accounted for 17 points and Recardo Gaddy chipped in 12. Ben Siefert dished out nine of the team’s 24 assists.
Chase Morgan guided the Big Blues with 21 points and three assists. He connected on 14-of-15 from the charity stripe. Vincent Rogers had 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds while Roy Cooper registered 12. Alex Webb garnered 11 points. BSC drilled 18-of-24 free throws in the game and thwarted seven steals. The Big Blues also had six blocks.
