He doesn’t have academic issues. He and our staff were concerned about his injury and whether he’d be ready by fall. Since you can only sign 25 per class per year (early enrollees can count back to the previous class) and 28 max, the staff wanted to be sure he’d he available and not have to greyshirt, which would limit the number we could bring in next January/February. He went to his doctor and they felt he’d be 85-90% by the time he arrived in June, so both parties felt that was sufficient to go ahead and make it official.

As you know, when you’re referring to a person’s medical and academic background, you have to be careful to not violate any privacy laws and the coaches can’t speak publicly on recruits until they sign, hence why there was some mystery to this one over the last week and a half.

Also, probably best not to make libelous statements about the kid’s academics when we don’t know the facts. Besides, think about it….what would’ve changed in a week anyway? A test score? The SAT’s don’t start until next month on March 9th, so that tells you the whole story.

Hope he does well in class and on the field. Watching some of his film, he is really shifty with good vision. He could be especially troublesome in DH’s offense out in space. I am looking forward to seeing him play soon!

This guy was interviewed by the local media on signing day with a WV hat and he stated that he had signed. They showed him signing. I kind of know this because I live 25 miles away. Glad he is finally included as he seemed very happy.
