WVU baseball camps on deck

WVU baseball coach Randy Mazey and his staff are overseeing four more camps this summer.

 

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University features four more upcoming baseball camps this summer, including a father-son camp this weekend.

Father/Son camp: June 29-30

(Ages 5-13): The WVU coaching staff will teach participants various drills, fundamentals and mechanics of all phases of the game. The fathers will then coach their children through a variety of drills with the help and guidance of the WVU coaching staff. Camp will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.

Youth camp: July 1-3

(Ages 5-12): Campers will be instructed the on techniques and fundamentals of: hitting, pitching, infield, outfield, catching, baserunning, bunting, cut-offs & relays, rundowns, and sliding. Games will be played to emphasize the techniques learned in our daily instruction. All players will be grouped according to age and ability. Camp will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily.

Become a Mountaineer camp: August 5-8

(Ages 13-18): A “luxury camp” provides players the opportunity to gain a “true WVU player experience” while also receiving instruction by and competing in front of the WVU coaching staff. This special, all-inclusive camp is limited to 40 campers.

Prospect Camp: August 10-11

Created specifically for high school players in the class of 2014-2017, campers will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities in a pro-style workout and in-game situations for the camp staff.
