Elkins Kicker Ranked Among Nation’s Best

Elkins High School kicker/punter Cory Broughton is being recognized as one of the top legs in the country/ He’s been named to the Ray Guy/ProKicker.com Kicking Academy National Ranking List after attending on the academy’s camps this summer.

“We would like every athlete to be honored for their individual performance as well as their initiative, dedication and accomplishment to improving their skills,” said Guy.

Athletes named to the National Rankings List were individually evaluated and graded on facets of kicking and punting such as hang-time, distance, and accuracy. Broughton’s performances earned him a spot as the No. 3 ranked punter/kicker combo player (No. 4 on the kicker rankings and No. 8 among punters).

This season Broughton is averaging 38 yards per punt, has nine touchbacks on kickoffs, is 11-12 on PATs and has made both of his field goal attempts.
