PrimeTime For Adrian

Morgantown’s Nathan Adrian is one of the top recruits who played in this year’s PrimeTime Shootout at University High School.

Showcasing his talent in front of the home crowd, Adrian ignited for 16 points, including two three-pointers in a close 59-53 win over the Thomas Jefferson Orange Wave Friday night.

Despite being in the spotlight at such a young age, Adrian is poised as a sophomore on the varsity team.

“The game was fun,” Adrian, who is ranked 87th overall in the 2013 recruiting class, said. “I play these kinds of guys all the time in summer league, so it was just fun.”

Adrian said he expects his team to continue to improve after playing a talented out-of-state opponent.

He also understands his youth and the ability to enhance his skills as a basketball player are vital, especially for his future.

“I expect to get better,” he said. “I expect our whole team to get better later on.”

During the offseason, Adrian plays on the West Virginia Wildcats travel team. He is undeclared and has no colleges listed at the moment.

Adrian and the 9-1 Mohigans will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 27 when the team hosts University High School.
