PrimeTime Showcase: Omar Calhoun

One of the players the Mountaineers will have their eyes on at PrimeTime Shootout will be guard Omar Calhoun, a student at Christ the King High School in Brooklyn, New York. Calhoun also has interests coming from Backyard Brawl rival Pittsburgh, Villanova, North Carolina, Arizona and Rutgers.

Calhoun is ranked 23rd in the ESPN Super 60 and is the sixth ranked shooting guard in America. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, he led Christ the King High School to victory with 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

The 6-foot-3 180 pound guard averaged 15.6 points per game in his sophomore season and is continuing to impress in his junior season at Christ the King. The biggest improvement to his game has been his shooting as he also tries to tighten up his defensive skills.

Calhoun is attending a high school that produced basketball star Lamar Odom from the Los Angeles Lakers. Sue Bird and Chamique Holdsclaw of WNBA also came out of Christ the King.

Calhoun will look to continue to impress the scouts this weekend at the 2011 Prime Time Shootout at University High School in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Keep checking in with MetroNews for constant coverage before, during and after the 2011 Prime Time Shootout.
