Morgantown High Sweeps Cross Town Series with University

Balanced scoring and an outstanding defensive effort led Morgantown to a 71-39 win over cross town rival University at MHS Thursday night.    Senior Michael Keffer led four MHS players in double figures with 14 points.   Senior Taylor Price scored 12.   Morgantown also got 36 points off the bench as reserves Sammy Lusk and Alex Watson were also in double figures with 12 and 11, respectively.

For the second time in as many games this year against UHS, Morgantown got to the free throw line as the Mohigans were 24-31 Thursday night.   Morgantown shot 35 free throws to University’s four during the first game this season, a 61-51 win over the Hawks on Feb. 2.

Morgantown improved to 14-2 with the victory.    The Mohigans, ranked third in the newest edition of the MetroNews Power Index, still have tough games remaining with Jefferson and Wheeling Park as well as a pair against conference rival Fairmont Senior.
