Marshall Women’s Basketball Heads Into Conference USA Tournament

The Marshall women’s basketball team will travel to El Paso for the Conference USA Tournament set to get underway on Wednesday, Mar. 9. The opening contest of the four-day tournament will feature the Herd and UAB, set for a 2 p.m., tipoff at Memorial Gym on the campus of UTEP.

The Thundering Herd concluded its regular season with a 70-57 win versus Southern Miss on its home court to improve to 5-11 in conference play and 9-20 overall. The win pushed Marshall past the Golden Eagles and into the No. 10 spot.

MU fell 74-46 to the Blazers, the tournament’s No. 7 seed, on Jan. 30th, before mounting a 58-57 victory on its home floor two weeks ago. The winner will advance to Thursday’s 2 p.m., matchup against No. 2 seeded UCF (19-10, 12-4 C-USA).

Conference USA will air its first annual Women’s Basketball Podcast Show on Monday, Mar. 7. The two-hour show can be heard in its entirety or broken down to feature all 12 C-USA coaches individually.
