Marshall Men’s Golf Travels to Pinehurst

The Marshall University men’s golf team will travel to Pinehurst, North Carolina, to compete in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate this weekend.

The Pinehurst Intercollegiate, presented by Gatorade, features a 16-team field this year with Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Francis Marion, Marshall, Michigan State, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Old Dominion, Penn State, Radford, Richmond, VCU, Virginia Tech, Western Illinois and Xavier.

Competition will be contested on The Club at Pinehurst No. 6, beginning with practice rounds Thursday, March 10, and 54-holes of stroke play starting Friday, March 11, and continuing until the Championship closes on Sunday, March 13.

The Club at Pinehurst No. 6 is a Tom Fazio designed course that was renovated in 2005. Number 6 is a 6,990-yard, Par 71 course.

Marshall’s line-up includes Christian Brand (Sr., Charleston, W.Va.), Bosten Miller (Jr., Charleston, W.Va.), Brian Anania (Fr., Hurricane, W.Va.), Nathan Kerns (So., Ironton, Ohio). Carson Schambach (Jr., Glen Dale, W.Va.), and Bennett Boyer (Sr., Millersburg, Pa.).
