Summers Continues To Win

The Top seeded Summers County Bobcats did what they did all season in the opening round of the state tournament, win, and defeated the Chapmanville Tigers 80-38. This extends their state record consecutive wins streak to 94 games.

Summers County finished the first quarter up 17-2 over the Tigers, but in the second quarter Chapmanville was able to match the Tigers with 16 points. The Bobcats would lead at the half 33-18.

In the second half Summers County began to dominate like they have all season outscoring the Tigers 25-5 in the third quarter and they cruised to a victory from there.

The leading scorer in the game was Summers County’s Hallie Gunnoe with 22 points. The 4-time defending state champions advance to the state semi-finals once again and will play the winner of the Frankfort/Braxton County game at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
