Marshall Women’s Golf Opens Play in Florida

Marshall women’s golf travels to Florida for Spring Break week to take part in two events. The Thundering Herd opens play with the MSU Ocala Spring Invite hosted by Morehead State. The two day event tees off on Monday with 18 holes at Juliette Falls Golf Resort.

Monday’s event features a five team field, with Marshall joining Morehead State, Jacksonville State, Montana State, and Ohio.  

MU concludes the week with the 2011 University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational, set to take place on Friday, Mar. 25, at the Plantation Inn Golf Resort and Span. 

The weekend’s tournament features a 23 team field; Campbell, Cincinnati, Eckerd, Elon Embry Riddle, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast Florida Southern, Houston Baptist, McNeese, Mercer, Morehead State, North Dakota State, North Texas, Oakland, Ohio University, Rutgers, Seminole State, Seton Hall, St. Andrews, Stetson, and Conference USA foe UAB. 

Each of the three days will consist of 18 holes with 8:30 a.m., tee times.
The Herd opened spring action at Barefoot at the Beach on Mar. 6th through the 8th. MU finished in 13th place behind the play of Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio). The senior shot a team-best 237 (80-78-79=237). Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va.) finished one stroke behind (82-78-78=238) with back-to-back 78’s in rounds two and three.
