Marshall Women’s Golf Completes Round One of MSU Ocala Spring Invitational

Marshall women’s golf shot a 315 in the opening round of the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational at Juliette Falls Golf Resort on Monday afternoon. The Herd is three strokes behind third place Ohio University following 18 holes of action.

The Thundering Herd was led by Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio) who carded a 77 on day one. Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va.) sits one stroke back with a 78.
Freshmen Rachel Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio) and Allison Harper (Upper Arlington, Ohio) each finished with an 80 in round one. 

Kaci Boyd (Ashland, Ky.) rounded out the Herd roster with an 85 in her first action of the spring season.

Host Morehead State leads the five team field with an opening round score of 286.  MSU’s Emma Jonsson grabbed sole possession of first place with a 69 in the first 18 holes. 

The Invitational wraps up with a second round of 18 on Tuesday afternoon.
