Marshall Women’s Golf Prepares for Conference USA Championship

The Marshall women’s golf team travels to Gulf Shores, Ala., for the 2011 Conference USA Championship hosted by UAB at Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club on Apr. 17-20.

Tournament action for the 10 team, three day event on the par 72 course will begin on Sunday with a 10 a.m. tee time.

MU comes off a 12th place finish at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic last weekend. The injury struck Thundering Herd watched as Rachel Thompson and Molly Ginger were the only members of Marshall’s lineup to play in all three rounds of action. Thompson notched a team-best 46th place finish on the weekend. 

The Herd improved in the final day of action, posting its lowest round of the weekend, a 310, with each player shooting its best round of the tournament. 

Freshman Allison Harper is averaging a team-leading 77.3 through 22 rounds of play this year.
