The Marshall University baseball team will look to bounce back with a pair of midweek games on the road, starting with a tilt at Ohio State on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. The second game of the week will take place at Morehead State on Wednesday, with the contest starting at 6:30 p.m.
Marshall sits at 15-23 on the season after suffering a three-game sweep against Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss., over the weekend.
Kenny Socorro, who has now started 139 consecutive games for the Thundering Herd, went 6-for-11 (.545) in the series against the Golden Eagles, including a perfect 3-for-3 in the finale. He scored four runs and knocked in three. He is now hitting .419 (18-for-43) in 12 league games.
Steven Ross also produced last week, batting .429 (6-for-14) with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. The junior tallied 10 total bases for a .714 slugging percentage and reached base at a .556 clip, walking once and getting plunked on three occasions.
