With the WVIAC regular season wrapping up Monday afternoon, the pairings for the 12-team league tournament have been finalized, as announced by the conference office.
With the four league games that were squeezed in Monday, a few shake-ups occurred in the tournament standings.
WV Wesleyan claimed the top seed in the league with its 21-1 overall WVIAC record and a power rating of 180. Shepherd wrapped up the season with a 19-5 ledger (147.5), good enough for second in the standings while WV State took third with a 13-5 record (121.67).
By virtue of its 107.65 power rating points, Fairmont State placed fourth while Glenville State was fifth (98.5, 11-9). Charleston, which split its regular-season doubleheader finale, stands in sixth (97.89, 11-8).
Davis & Elkins posted an 11-9 WVIAC record for 92 points and a seventh-place finish. Seton Hill claimed eighth at 10-10 (84.5). Alderson-Broaddus totaled a 9-11 mark (81.5) for ninth.
Wheeling Jesuit took 10th with 69 points and an 8-12 mark while Concord was 11th at 7-13 (60.5). Despite dropping a doubleheader against West Liberty on Monday evening, Ohio Valley’s power rating of 48.89 was good enough for the last spot in the tournament.
