Wenger, Shaulis And Pickering Earn WVIAC Honors

Josh Wenger, Drew Shaulis and Chase Pickering have garnered WVIAC honors, as announced by the league office Monday.

Wenger earned the Player of the Week honor after going nine-for-20 with seven RBI for the week. He helped Concord post a 4-1 record. Wenger belted out a double, triple and home run on the week while scoring five runs.

Pitt Johnstown’s Shaulis was one of two that earned Co-Pitcher of the Week honors. He tossed a complete-game shutout in the 9-0 win over Shepherd. In the win, he scattered four hits while striking out two and walking just one.

Pickering helped WV State sweep Kanawha County rival Charleston with his fine performance on the mound. He also tossed a complete game. Pickering allowed just one hit and did not walk any while striking out six in the 4-0 win.
