The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its brackets for the 2011 NCAA Singles and Doubles Tennis Championship which features Marshall’s Michaela Kissell and Dominika Zaprazna.
The 64-player singles draw begins on Wednesday, May 25th with Kissell set for action at 4 p.m. The ITA Atlantic Region Senior of the Year and 52nd-ranked player in the country is paired against Joanna Mather of Florida in the first round. Mather holds a singles ranking of No. 42. The winner of that match will move on to face Jana Juricova of California or Reka Zsilinszka of Duke. Juricova is the No. 1 player in the country.
Doubles action begins on Thursday the 26th and pairs Kissell and Zaprazna against the fourth overall seed of Hilary Barte and Mallory Burdette from the host institution, Stanford. Barte won the Doubles National Championship last season with Mallory Burdette’s older sister Lindsey.
