War Eagle?

The Champs Sports bowl is not a fond memory for West Virginia University fans. WVU football lost 23-7 to the NC State Wolfpack and their star quarterback Russell Wilson dominated the game and threw for 276 yards.

Wilson has since graduated from N.C. State and was released by N.C. State after he decided to pursue a career full-time in professional baseball. Now, Wilson may be back on the gridiron. Possibly with the Auburn Tigers.

His unique position has led to an interest from SEC schools, including Auburn.   Wilson visited the school on Tuesday. So far, the Tigers have not determined a starting quarterback for the 2011 season.

Wilson is eligible to play immediately this season and has one year of eligibility remaining. He threw for 3,663 yards and 28 touchdowns last season. Throughout college he split his commitment between football and baseball and is currently playing in the minor leagues for the Colorado Rockies’s organization.
