Shepherd junior designated hitter Nathan Minnich has been named ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region Player of the Year while six additional WVIAC student-athletes were tabbed to the squad.
One of eight finalists for the 2011 Tino Martinez Award for DII Baseball Player of the Year, Minnich garnered his third regional player of the year honors after earlier gaining similar accolades on the Daktronics and NCBWA teams.
Joining Minnich on the first team are Seton Hill standouts Tom DeAngelis and Brian Warheit. Evan Gazza of Davis & Elkins was also named first team.
Concord’s Keith Morrisroe, Fairmont State’s Andy Leach and D&E’s Zach McElroy garnered second-team honors.
Morrisroe was named to the “Golden Glove” first team at shortstop while Charleston first baseman was as well.
The Golden Eagles were represented on the second team with outfielder Ryan Hathaway.
