Jules Ties for 27th in High Jump at NCAA Prelims

Vanessa Jules of the Marshall University women’s track and field team tied for 27th in the high jump at the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary Championships on Friday and Indiana University.

Jules, the sole NCAA participant for the Thundering Herd, posted a height of 1.70m at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex. Five athletes tied for the winning height at 1.81m. The top 12 heights of the East Prelims and West Prelims qualified for the NCAA Finals in two weeks in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jules once again had a standout year, even outdoing her junior All-American freshman season. Jules set the school record in the high jump for indoor and outdoor, as well as setting an MU best in the 300 meter dash, and was a member of the 4×100 meter and 4×400 meter relay teams which set school records.
