Warriors Take Down Blue Eagles

After taking a five-nothing lead at end of the second inning, the Wyoming East Warriors never trailed in their 6-4 victory against Magnolia in the Class AA semi-finals.

The Warriors’ offense was paced by a four run 2nd inning. Chase Morgan started off the rally with a single up the middle with the bases load to drive in two runs. Aaron Cantrell was the next batter and he lined a double down the right field line to clear the rest of the bases.

Magnolia answered with three runs in the top of the 3rd inning. The Blue Eagles used small ball and the Warriors made some costly errors in the inning. Both offenses were held in check after that inning and it was a pitchers dual the rest of the way.

Wyoming East advances to the Class AA state finals to face the winner of the Braxton County-Chapmanville game.
