Blue Jays Sign Kadish as Free Agent

Right-handed pitcher Ian Kadish was signed as a free agent by the Toronto Blue Jays after the conclusion of the MLB Draft on Wednesday afternoon.

The signing of Kadish marked the third Thundering Herd pitcher to join the Toronto Blue Jays, as Arik Sikula (36th round) and Shane Farrell (46th round) were drafted earlier in the day.

Kadish made the transition from Friday night starter to closer for the 2011 season, posting a 4.99 ERA, striking out 28 batters in 30.2 innings. The righty finished with 83 career appearances, placing him third all-time in school history.

The signing of Kadish marks the ninth player off the 2011 Marshall roster to be picked up by a professional team.
