Former West Virginia University quarterback Pat White has reportedly signed a contract to play for the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL.
"It’s a chance to show I can do it," said White to FoxSports.com.
The team "tweeted" last week that they were close to signing the former Miami Dolphin. Sunday night, Foxsports.com reported that the quarterback has indeed signed with the expansion franchise. However, there has been no official word from the team. Calls by Metronews to the Virginia Destroyers’ front office have not been returned.
White is listed on the Destroyers’ roster at the team’s website. He would be one of four quarterbacks on the team. UFL veteran Chris Greisen also recently signed with the Destroyers and looks to be the man to beat for the starting job. The other two quarterbacks are former Marshall signal caller Derek Devine and former UConn QB Dennis Brown.
