On Tuesday Rutgers University became the 11th school in Division I football to sell the naming rights of its stadium. Rutgers Stadium is now going to be called High Point Solutions Stadium. The Scarlett Knights’ athletic director Tim Pernetti has been looking for a company to buy the rights to the stadium for about one year.
High Point Solutions Incorporated signed a 10-year, $6.5 million contract for the naming rights. Rutgers joins Syracuse and Louisville as the only other Big East schools that have sold the naming rights to its stadium.
The company is a 15-year-old information technology supplier in Sparta, New Jersey. Read more on this story from the New York Times.
