Bradshaw Wins By One

David Bradshaw defends his West Virginia Open Championship and defeats Pikewood Country Club Pro Bob Friend by one stroke in a three-hole playoff. Both golfers finished the three rounds at five under par.

Win the victory Bradshaw wins his sixth West Virginia Open Championship. He says he’s proud of his accomplishment.

"It’s exciting. It was a lot of hard work," said Bradshaw. "I wish I would have played better today, but a win’s a win. I scratched it in again somehow so it’s pretty cool."

As far as his performance on the day. Bradshaw shot plus-1, but he said most of the field struggle in the tournament.

"The final group didn’t really play that well. Nobody struck the ball well, nobody really putted well, it was really an uneventful day until the end," said Bradshaw.

Bradshaw began the day with a two stroke lead, but shot plus-1 on the day. Friend shot minus-1 and was able to birdie two of his final three holes to tie things up.

Both golfers played holes 16, 17 and 18 in the three-hole playoff.
