After being fired six months ago, former Pitt head football coach Mike Haywood has asked the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and other state and federal agencies to investigate his firing.
The law firm representing Haywood said the university owes him hundreds of thousands of dollars in contractual obligations.
Haywood was fired two weeks after he was hired because he was arrested and charged with domestic violence. There was an incident between Haywood and the mother of his 21-month old child where they got into an argument over the custody of their child. Haywood reportedly grabbed his child’s mother arm and neck and pushed her.
The incident occurred on New Year’s Eve and Haywood was fired on New Year’s Day. To read more on the story read this report from The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
