Gabbert Transferring To Louisville

The Louisville Cardinals have gained a quarterback for the future. Former Missouri quarterback Tyler Gabbert has decided to transfer to Louisville. He will have to sit out the 2011 season because of NCAA transfer rules, but will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Tyler’s older brother Blaine also played at Missouri and was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the tenth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Tyler sat out all of last season.

Both Gabbert brothers were recruiting by the Cardinals when they were in high school. Tyler will compete against junior Will Stein, sophomore Dominique Brown and freshman Teddy Bridgewater for the starting spot when he is eligible.
