Jam Fest Showcase: Amile Jefferson

Five-star basketball recruit Amile Jefferson is a player to watch for in this week’s West Virginia Hoop Group Jam Fest.

Jefferson, standing at 6’7 and 180 pounds, is listed as the 12th best prospect nationally in the 2012 recruiting class by Scout.com.

He has great length and good size. Scouts believe his feel for the game and terrific agility make him tough to guard. Coming to the collegiate level, Jefferson will need to gain more muscle and a more reliable jump shot.

His length and athleticism have made him a top wing prospect for many top collegiate basketball programs throughout the East Coast. Jefferson has received offers from Maryland, NC State, Ohio State, Villanova, and West Virginia. Also on his radar are Georgetown, Miami (Fl), Syracuse, and Wake Forest.

Jefferson plays for Friends’ Central High School in Wynnewood, PA, whose notable basketball alumni include current NBA players Hakim Warrick and Mustafa Shakur.

His AAU team, Team Philly has also produced NBA point guard Kyle Lowry.

Jefferson and Team Philly will kick off their Jam Fest against Hoop Heaven Heat out of New Jersey. The game is set to tip off at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday at University High School. The teams will play on Court 1.
