Boykins Caps HS Career With Solid All-Star Game

On Monday night, incoming Marshall basketball recruit Devince Boykins had a solid performance in the North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All Star game. Boykins scored 11 points for the West squad in its 100-93 victory over the East.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard from East Rutherford High School made the go ahead layup with two minutes left in the game. He also had a dunk. Boykins finished his high school career averaging 17.2 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 3 assists per game during his senior season. He also led ERH to the Class 2A state championship.

The North Carolina native was the second player to commit to Marshall’s 2011 recruiting class back in mid-December. He is rated as a 2-star recruit by Scout.com. He is one of six incoming recruits in Marshall’s 2011 class.
