Jason Corriher Named Assistant Athletic Director At Marshall University

Marshall University Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick has announced the hiring of Jason Corriher as the Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations.

Corriher will oversee the Thundering Herd Sports Information Department while serving as the primary media contact for the Marshall football program.

"We are proud to have someone as experienced as Jason join our program," Hamrick said.  "He has worked with several high profile programs and will be an asset to our department."

Since July of 2007, Corriher has served as the Assistant Director of Athletics/Media Relations Director at Ohio University working primarily with the Bobcat football program. While at Ohio, Corriher oversaw the promotion of four Academic All-Americans, six nominations to five preseason watch lists and three NFL draft picks.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent Marshall University Athletics," Corriher said. "Marshall has tremendous tradition, a rich history and I’m eager to become part of the campus and the greater Huntington communities."

Prior to his time at Ohio, Corriher was the Assistant Director of Athletics at Marist College, supervising all 23 D-1 sports while working primarily with football, men’s basketball and baseball.

He began his career working for his alma mater; NC State. After working as a student assistant and intern with the Wolfpack, he worked with the women’s soccer, track, men’s tennis and rifle teams as a media relations assistant. Following his time with the Wolfpack, Corriher landed at the Big South Conference, where he spent one year as an assistant and one as the league’s director of public relations.

Corriher will assume the position on August 1.
