West Virginia is the only Big East team ranked in the AP preseason college football poll. The Mountaineers enter the poll at No. 24, receiving 207 votes. Pitt was the only other team out of the Big East receiving votes with only nine.
Oklahoma is the preseason No. 1, followed by Alabama, Oregon, LSU and Boise State in the top five. Defending national champion Auburn comes in just ahead of West Virginia at No. 23. TCU, which joins the Big East in 2012, is at No. 14 in the preseason poll.
