Herd Gets Verbal From 4-Star DB

Wednesday wasn’t all bad for Herd fans. Although the loss to WVU in the Capital Classic was front and center, Marshall scored a big win on the recruiting trail. As reported by Andrew Ramspacher of The Herald-Dispatch 4-Star defensive back A.J. Leggett verbally committed to play his college ball for The Herd.

Rivals.com ranks Leggett as the 10th best cornerback in the county and a 4-star recruit. During his senior season, Leggett picked off four passes and also racked up over 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns as a quarterback.
Leggett was reportedly also considering Miami, but his 2.4 GPA and 22 ACT score would not have allowed him to come in a play right away.
