Pitt-Johnstown 64, Alderson-Broaddus 55

PHILIPPI, W. Va. – Pitt-Johnstown got off to a hot start and recorded a 64-55 road win at Alderson-Broaddus.

The Lady Cats were guided by Sara Trimarco’s game-high 21 points and four steals. Kaitlynn Fratz notched 18 points, six rebounds and a team-high three assists. UPJ sank eight three-point shots, four of which came from Trimarco.

Zipporah Tidwell led the Battlers with a team-high 16 points. Amanda Peoples added 12 points and grabbed a game-high 14 boards. Erica Brooks added nine points and six rebounds while Natalie Smith dished out a game-best six assists.

Fairmont State 80, Wheeling Jesuit 54

FAIRMONT, W. Va. – Fairmont State got hot in the second half and pulled away for an 80-54 win over Wheeling Jesuit.

The Falcons shot 50.7 percent for the game. Tiffany Nicholson poured in a game-high 23 points to go along with six boards, five assists and four steals to lead FSU to the win. Hailey Garrett tallied 18 points and eight rebounds while Emily Lohr scored 10. Kaitlin Snyder totaled just seven points but dished out five assists.

Cassy Sanderson led the Cardinals with a team-best 20 points. Teammate Lucy DeFruscio netted 13 while Emily Robinson and Taneka Lewis each had six. Lewis pulled down a team-best six rebounds. As a team, WJU recorded eight thefts.

WV Wesleyan 77, Shepherd 65

BUCKHANNON, W. Va. – WV Wesleyan got out to an 18-point halftime advantage en route to a 77-65 win over Shepherd.

Lydia Bridenbaugh poured in a game-high 30 points in the win. Jamie Kaufman narrowly missed a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Daria Abros’kina scored 13 while Danae Hill totaled seven points and six assists.

Emily Daniel was the lone SU student-athlete to post double figures. She netted 13 points in the game. Shelby Fayak notched nine points while Gabby Flinchum and Rachel Johnson each tallied eight. The Rams were solid from the charity stripe, canning 13-of-16 (81.2 percent).

Glenville State 112, Charleston 83

GLENVILLE, W. Va. – Glenville State scorched the nets for 60 first-half points en route to a 112-83 win over Charleston.

Beth Deren scored a game-high 23 points to go along with six rebounds in the win. Jelena Elez had a huge day with 22 points and 16 assists in 36 minutes. Mishae Miles had 19 points and 12 boards while Tenisha Wilson chipped in 17 points. Kenyell Goodson came off the bench to net 11.

For the Golden Eagles, Chrissy Keir led the way with a team-best 15 points. Erika Rousculp totaled 14 to go along with seven rebounds. Marilene Lapierre had 12 points while Nichole Perry added 11. Kayla Dozier and LeAnne Ross each totaled 10 points.

Concord 72, Ohio Valley 60

ATHENS, W. Va. – Strong play by Camisha Alexander and Jolysa Brown helped Concord defeat Ohio Valley 72-60.

Brown scored a game-high 22 points and dished out five assists in the win. Alexander tallied 20 points while Andrea Bertrand garnered 12. Tenisha Williams posted 10 for the victors. The Mountain Lions sank 17 free throws in the game.

Dakeisha Mann registered a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Fighting Scots. Tara Benedict and Andrea Collins each totaled 10 points. Amber Avery added eight points and six rebounds while Shelby Way totaled eight points.

Davis & Elkins 79, Seton Hill 70

ELKINS, W. Va. – Davis & Elkins hit 56.5 percent of its shots in the second half to post a 79-70 win over visiting Seton Hill.

Rachel Gostomski came off the bench to net a team-high 17 points for the Senators. She also corralled a team-high six rebounds. Jordan Lykes and Page Turner each added 14 points in the win while Victoria Lyles and Amy Turner had nine apiece. Page Turner dished out a game-best six assists.

Paige Alviani scored a game-high 19 points for the Griffins. She also dished out five assists. Katie Gattuso had a huge game with 15 points and 15 rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Jaleesa Beverly and Meghan Mastroianni each had nine points.

Bluefield State 82, WV State 69

BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – Bluefield State built a 12-point halftime lead and fought off multiple WV State rallies to post an 82-69 win over the Yellow Jackets.

Shae Mebane poured in a game-high 24 points and narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds for the Lady Blues. LaWanna Gravely scored 15 points while Dragana Tomic chipped in 14. Kelli Morgan came off the bench to net 13 points, including an 11-of-12 effort from the foul line. She also registered eight steals.

Janelle Williams led WVSU with 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. Williams also hit 11-of-12 from the charity stripe. Jasmine Blanton totaled 15 points while Sissy Wagner added 12. Wagner dished out five assists. Asia Greenleaf accounted for nine points and five rebounds for the Yellow Jackets.
