Gyorko Assigned To Minor Leagues

Jedd Gyorko has been assigned to the minor leagues with the Padres after spending time with the team in spring training.  The former Mountaineer is one of the Padres’ top prospects — he overall hit .278 in 36 at bats through spring training this year with six RBIs. 

Gyorko spent time in both Class A and Class AA in 2011 — overall, he has a minor league career batting average of .323 in just two seasons, along with 32 home runs and 155 RBIs.
