WV Wesleyan Wins WVIAC Softball Title

WV Wesleyan has won the 2012 WVIAC regular-season softball title as seedings for this week’s WVIAC Tournament have been finalized.

The top-seeded Bobcats square off against No. 8 Ohio Valley at 10 a.m., while No. 4 Shepherd will face No. 5 Fairmont State in another quarterfinal game at the same time.

At 12 p.m., second-seeded Charleston will battle against No. 7 Alderson-Broaddus. Third-seeded WV State squares off against No. 6 Seton Hill in the other 12 p.m. contest.

The first day of the tournament is slated to have eight games. It is a double-elimination tournament with the championship game slated to be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 28.

The tournament begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
