BCS Officials Evaluating Options

BCS conference officials have been meeting, narrowing down their options for the future postseason format in college football.

Meetings on Wednesday lasted for eight hours as momentum continues to build for a reported four team playoff.  There are two possible scenarios if a four team playoff would take place — having the semifinals played as a part of the bowl system or playing the semifinals at on-campus sites.  The lean appears to be more towards keeping some of the bowl tradition and integrating the semifinals as a part of the bowl system.

Any potential changes to the BCS system wouldn’t take place until the 2014 season — an official decision on those changes will be made by this summer.
