Marshall running back Martin Ward’s legal troubles continue. Andrew Ramspacher of the Huntington Herald-Dispatch has confirmed Ward was arrested on April 1st for DUI in Kenova, WV.
According to Ramspacher’s report, Ward was stopped in the 800 block of Oak Street after police say he jumped the railroad tracks and continued west. Police noted Ward’s glassy eyes and slurred speech. A field sobriety test indicated Ward’s BAC was .144.
Ward was taken to the Kenova Police Department and was released on $350 bond and was never transported to the Western Regional Jail.
Marshall Head Coach Doc Holliday released s a statement Thursday night concerning the latest development.
"We were aware of the issue and it is being dealt with internally."
Ward was arrested in an incident with police on Fourth Avenue last Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
