The Wyoming East Warriors are back in the Class AA championship game after defeating the Liberty (H) Mountaineers 5-1 Saturday at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.
The Warriors of head coach Ron "Chief" Mayhew road the strong arm of right hander Travis McKinney once again as the youngster pitched 7 strong innings giving up only one run on four hits and striking out 12. The leading hitter for Wyoming East was 2b Christian Hedinger who went 3-4 piwith one rbi and one run scored.

For the Mountaineers of Liberty (H) pitcher Alex Loar went 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and striking out 4. Matt Mason came on in the top of the 7th with one out and and got out of the inning. The leading hitter for the Mountaineers was designated hitter Tyler Stewart who went 2 for 2 and also shortstop Ty Noss who was 2 for 3.
For Wyoming East, their season continues on Sunday afternoon when they will play in their 2nd straight Class AA title game taking on the winner of Point Pleasant and Herbert Hoover. Last year, the Warriors lost to Chapmanville by a final score of 8-0.
