Three Shot In West Huntington Shooting

Three people are in the hospital after a shooting Wednesday night in West Huntington.

Huntington police said the shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. at an apartment in the 1700 block of Jefferson Avenue.

According to police, a male suspect walked up to the apartment door and knocked. When the door was opened the man opened fire in the apartment.

The suspect then fled the scene and is currently on the loose.

Three people were injured in the shooting and were transported to the hospital. Their injuries are reportedly non-life threatening.

Police said three children were also in the apartment when the gunman opened fire but were not hurt.

The children have been taken by Child Protective Services.

The investigation is ongoing.
