Three sought for Morgantown armed robbery

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown Police are investigating another in a string of recent armed robberies in the University City.

Morgantown Police told MetroNews Affiliate WAJR-AM in Morgantown the latest holdup happened at around 4:00 a.m. Sunday on Beverly Avenue in the Sunnyside area.

According to the two victims, one suspect struck one of the victims with a handgun and took his wallet and cell phone.

There were three suspects that were described as black males wearing dark colored hooded shirts and masks over their faces.  One of the males was approximately 6’00” tall and the other two were approximately 5’8” tall.  The three suspects fled the area on foot prior to officers arriving on scene.

This is the seventh armed robbery to occur in the Morgantown area since the beginning of September.
