Man dead in Westover fire

WESTOVER, W.Va. — A 25-year-old man died in a house fire in Monongalia County Friday morning.

Assistant state Fire Marshall Mackey Ayersman said the fire began in the left bedroom of a 2 bedroom home on Parkview Drive in Westover. The fire was reported at just before 7:30 a.m.

The victim’s identification has not been released.

Ayersman said the cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

The house was declared a total loss. Other people who lived there were not at home at the time of the blaze.
