Notes: Martinsburg running back Deamonte Lindsay finished Saturday’s win over Capital with 114 yards on the ground and three total touchdowns. The Bulldogs will be going for a record fourth straight Class AAA state championship and they’re into the Super Six for the eighth time since 2001.

Opening round: Defeated No. 16 Lewis County, 31-7
Quarterfinals: Defeated No. 8 George Washington, 17-13
Semifinals: Defeated No. 5 Wheeling Park, 34-21
Notes: The Highlanders gave up the most points they’ve surrendered on the season last week in their 34-21 win over Wheeling Park. The 34 points were also the most they’ve scored since October. Huntington ran the ball 62 times for 361 yards in the win as Paden Christian led the way with 163 yards on 30 carries.

Notes: The Indians are in the Super Six for the first time since 2001 after beating Bluefield 42-21. Bridgeport quarterback A.C. Caldera led the Indians with 150 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Running back Anthony Bonamico added 107 yards and two scores in the win.

Opening round: Defeated No. 16 Philip Barbour, 53-25
Quarterfinals: Defeated No. 8 Sissonville, 48-7
Semifinals: Defeated No. 13 Robert C. Byrd, 44-20
Notes: Wayne is going for its third straight state championship and sole possession of the state’s all-time winning streak record (tied right now with Ansted at 36). The Pioneers had no trouble in the semifinals as quarterback Grant Ferguson returned after missing a couple of games with an injury. He finished 9-of-17 through the air for 250 yards and two touchdowns in first-half action.

Quarterfinals: Defeated No. 2 St. Marys, 18-0
Semifinals: Defeated No. 14 Magnolia, 21-14
Notes: In one of the better games of the entire playoffs, Greenbrier West took down Magnolia 21-14 in the semifinals. Greenbrier West quarterback Malik Boatwright connected with Garrett Smith for the game winning 18-yard touchdown pass with just 38 seconds to go in the game. Boatwright finished with 200 yards of total offense in the win. Greenbrier West last played for a football state championship in 1991 out of Class AA – a 31-22 loss to Spencer.

PLAYOFFS
Opening round: Defeated No. 16 Tucker County, 52-0
Quarterfinals: Defeated No. 8 Wahama, 77-50
Semifinals: Defeated No. 4 Williamstown, 42-28
Notes: Madonna scored 21 straight second half points to pull away from Williamstown in the semifinals, sparked by a 77-yard kickoff return by Will Bowser. It’s Madonna’s fourth trip to the Super Six since 2008 – the Blue Dons won the title last in 2009.
