Nicholas County’s Mayes to compete in all-star prep football camp

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — Nicholas County rising senior linebacker/running back Wil Mayes has  been invited and will be competing at the nation’s top prep football all-star camp, Football University’s TOP GUN, at the Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio from Thursday, July 17 to Saturday, July 19.  Being a part of TOP GUN means that these players are the best at their respective positions.

Wil was invited to TOP GUN because of his outstanding performance as a linebacker at the FBU Northern Virginia camp. He will join more than 800 of the nation’s other top athletes at their respective positions and will train with current and formerNFL players and coaches.

TOP GUN is the culmination of Football University’s 30-camp nationwide tour gathering the most elite performers from across the United States and allowing them to compete and display their abilities together on one stage. Football University has an impressive alumni list that includes some of the top college football recruits and players in the nation.

Headlining the TOP GUN Showcase were quarterbacks coach Jeff Rutledge, former quarterback coach of the Arizona Cardinals; wide receiver coach Billy “White Shoes” Johnson, offensive line coach Jim McNally, defensive back coach Ray Buchanan; and wide receiver coach Charlie Collins.

WHO: More than 800 elite youth and high school football players from across the country; Approximately 100 current and former NFL players and coaches.

Football University’s TOP GUN has trained some of the nation’s top players and is designed to give elite youth and prep athletes top-flight instruction. Top Gun also boasts an elite staff who have privately trained and mentored players such as Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, and Tony Romo.
