Body pulled from Kanawha River

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man’s body was found floating in the Kanawha River Sunday across from the state Capitol.

The body was spotted by a 13-year-old boy who was playing with his dog in the area.

Charleston police detectives have identified the victim as Richard Hanson, 47, of Charleston. The body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
