Man killed by oncoming train in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A man was struck and killed by a train on the tracks between Eighth and Ninth streets Thursday night.

Huntington police have not yet identified the victim and are investigating why he was on the tracks.

In an unrelated incident early on Thursday morning, a man was hit by a train underneath the West 17th Street overpass. The victim was alive when emergency personnel arrived at the scene, but his condition was unknown Thursday night.
