Counterfeit case sends man to prison for 3 years

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Barry Eugene Dragovich, 37, of Morgantown, was sentenced today to 37 months in prison for repeatedly possessing and attempting to use counterfeit U.S. currency.

In October 2014, Dragovich was found in possession of a large quantity of counterfeit United States currency. He pleaded guilty in January 2015 to one count of possessing counterfeit obligations and securities.

The United States Secret Service investigated.

U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
