Early morning crashes close lanes on I-64 for an hour

NITRO, W.Va. — The west-bound lanes of Interstate 64 re-opened about an hour after two accidents Monday morning.

The original call was for a crash involving two vehicles near the on-ramp of the interchange. When a Nitro police officer responded, another vehicle apparently hydroplaned and struck the officer’s parked cruiser.

Authorities said no one was hurt.
