Pair arrested in Parkersburg robbery

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Police arrested a man and a woman after an armed robbery Wednesday on Market Street.

Business owner Joe Dehaven alleged that the pair entered his business brandishing a pistol and demanding money. He defended himself with a baseball bat, and as an altercation ensued, the woman stole a bag of money from behind the bar. The two then allegedly fled in a blue car.

The male was wanted in Delaware County, Oh. for a probation violation. The woman was taken to the Belpre Police Department for questioning. Both eventually confessed to their involvement in the robbery.

The money was later located in the car. The victim sustained lacerations to his face during the altercation which caused swelling and bruising.
