ALUM CREEK, W.Va. — A bank robber got away from police in a wooded area of Lincoln County near the scene of the crime Friday.

The man walked into the Community Trust Bank in Midway, near Alum Creek, at just after 11 a.m. He pointed a gun and demanded money. He ran from the building after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

State troopers and sheriff’s deputies from Lincoln and Kanawha counties arrived on the scene and began looking in the woods near the bank. They also used K-9 units but were unable to locate the suspect.
