Man arrested in Huntington bank robbery

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A man who allegedly robbed a Huntington store Monday night was arrested after allegedly robbing a bank in town on Tuesday morning. 

Police say that 24-year-old Alexander Shy robbed a Family Dollar store in Huntington Monday evening. He then robbed a Peoples Bank on 20th Street in east Huntington at about 11:41 a.m Tuesday and then fled with an undisclosed amount of money. 

Huntington police released a surveillance photo shortly after the crime. Shy also has active warrants for battery and embezzlement from unrelated incidents.

There were no injuries and no word on how much money the man fled the bank with.
